Welcome to Russell-Tyler-Ruthton ISD No. 2902

Russell-Tyler-Ruthton (RTR) ISD No. 2902 is a proud, thriving school district located in Tyler, MN —just 30 miles southwest of Marshall -- with 725 students enrolled from (PreK-12).  RTR offers a close-knit, student-centered learning environment that emphasizes academic excellence, award winning extra-curricular activities, and strong community values. In 2021, with the help of our deeply supported communities, RTR opened a new state-of-the-art PreK-12 facility, providing students with a modern, safe, and welcoming environment that supports a wide range of rich learning experiences. Our schools are staffed by highly qualified certified educators, ensuring that every child receives a strong educational experience, and a culture that values transparency, accountability, and continuous self-improvement.  At RTR, we are not just a school district — we are a family dedicated to preparing every student for a bright and successful future.  GO KNIGHTS!

About the Community
RTR Public School District is in southwestern Minnesota. The area economy is fueled by farming and agribusiness. RTR is composed of communities of Russell, Tyler, and Ruthton. The three communities have been working cooperatively since the fall of 1987, and consolidated in 2006.

Mission Statement
Educational excellence, enhanced student achievement, fiscal stability, and life-long learning are the four pillars of the RTR School. We are a community dedicated to providing a safe, friendly environment challenging students to be productive citizens in an ever-changing world.
