Welcome to Russell-Tyler-Ruthton (RTR) Independent School District No. 2902, where students come first and excellence is our tradition. Located in the heart of southwestern Minnesota, just 30 miles southwest of Marshall, RTR proudly serves approximately 700 students in grades (PreK-12) in one of the finest new educational facilities in the region.
In 2021, through the incredible support of our communities, RTR opened a state-of-the-art (PreK-12) school, designed to provide students with a safe, secure, innovative, and welcoming learning environment. Our modern facility reflects our community's commitment to providing every student with the very best educational opportunities.
RTR is known for its outstanding teachers, caring staff, and strong partnerships with parents and the community. Our dedicated educators challenge, inspire, and support students while maintaining high academic expectations and fostering a culture built on respect, responsibility, integrity, and continuous improvement.
At RTR, students have opportunities to excel both inside and outside the classroom through rigorous academics, award-winning extracurricular activities, leadership opportunities, fine arts, athletics, and career exploration programs. About Our Communities
RTR School District serves the communities of Russell, Tyler, and Ruthton in beautiful southwestern Minnesota. The area's economy is rooted in agriculture, agribusiness, manufacturing, and small businesses, creating strong partnerships between our schools and local communities.
The three communities have worked cooperatively in education since 1987 and officially consolidated into one school district in 2006. Today, that spirit of collaboration continues as families, businesses, community members, and educators work together to provide exceptional educational opportunities for every student.
