About RTR Public School
RTR Public School's district office is located in Tyler. The roughly 298-square-mile school district has a student enrollment of 643. The school district maintains three school buildings. RTR Elementary School (located in Ruthton), serves 328 students in kindergarten through grade 5, RTR Middle School (located in Russell), serves 147 students in grades 6 through 8, and RTR High School (located in Tyler), serves 168 students in grades 9 through 12.
RTR Public Schools employs 50 licensed staff, 44 non-licensed staff, two principals, a dean of students, and a full-time superintendent. The school district operates its own food service program. The school district's transportation service program is run by a private, contracted company. Special education director and business management services are provided by the Southwest West Central Service Cooperative.

About the Community
RTR Public School District is in southwestern Minnesota. The area economy is fueled by farming and agribusiness. RTR is composed of communities of Russell, Tyler, and Ruthton. The three communities have been working cooperatively for many years and consolidated in 2006.
