Text Box: School Mall Fundraiser
Thank you for all your help with the School Mall booklets!  The money raised is used to buy educational computer software for our lab as well as books for classroom libraries.
Students have until Monday to return their booklets.  We only need a few more booklets to reach our school goal which will amount to an extra $450 bonus from School Mall!  Anyone who brings back a booklet will get his/her name in a drawing for some really cool prizes including Joe-Bot Robot, Crazy Car, and books to read!
Now you can start your Christmas shopping early by going on the Internet to www.schoolmall.com.  You select our school and do your shopping.  A percentage of the sales come back to RTR Elementary.
Happy Shopping!

Text Box: Three times a year (fall, winter, spring), RTR Elementary does informal testing and assessment on all students K-5.  We test both Reading and Math areas.  We compile the information on a computer generated program which allows us to see individual needs of students.  RTR Elementary believes in providing interventions to students who are not meeting the standards the district believes are necessary for successful completion of a high school diploma.  Research has shown that approximately 80% of students are successful with the general education classroom approach and with the general education materials.  Some students’ learning styles and processes require different strategies and different materials in addition to the materials normally used.  The information that we collect from these tests allow us to determine targeted skill interventions to use with students who need additional help in either Reading or Math.

Text Box: From your PTSA:
When you received your child’s Friday Folder, there was a pamphlet in it called, "Your Parent's Guide from Campbell's".  In the pamphlet, there is a coupon on the back for an extra 25 points.  If you could send it with your child to school, that would be great!

One other thing . . . If you go to "Boxtops4education.com/Passion and sign up for a free boxtops newsletter, we can earn 5 Bonus Box tops free.

Is anyone interested in directing the "Hamster Play", which is usually held in March, as we do not have a director for this year?  Please contact Kari A. at karixlt@hotmail.com, Sharyce B. at thebaartmans@woodstocktel.net, Teresa J. at johansen@myclearwave.net or Kari H. at kari.hansen@usbank.com if you are interested. Thanks!
