Mrs. Larson’s 2nd Grade Classroom Management Plan
Each child will be given three tickets (green, yellow, red). First, they will be given a verbal warning for misbehavior. If behavior continues, the Green ticket is removed and they lose 1 point for the day. The Yellow ticket is removed if behavior continues. They lose 2 points for the day and get 5 minutes of “time-out.” Should misbehaviors still continue, the Red ticket is removed. They will lose all 3 points for the day, a consequence will be given, and parents will be notified. A discipline report may also be given to the office. I keep a daily chart to record these points.
Students that retain their 3 points for the day all month long are rewarded at the end of each month. They may choose an item from my Prize box.
Each student has a chart on their desk where they may earn a plus for following directions, setting a good example for others, or being caught doing something good. When they have earned 200 points, they may choose an item from my Prize box.
My class can also earn marbles for a classroom party by walking quietly in the halls, working quietly at their desks, using good listening skills, etc. When they have earned 20 marbles, we will have some a celebration (Popcorn Party, Pop, special treat, extra recess, special movie, etc.) They will be able to vote on which activity they want as their reward.
Good behaviors are always rewarded with praise.
