Dear Preschool Parent:
Fall Scheduling for 2008-2009 RTR School Readiness Program
Now that the 2007-2008 RTR School Readiness school year is ending, the School Readiness Staff is busy setting up classes for next fall. The location and the number of classes held will be determined by pre-enrollment numbers and available monies. The information gathered during pre-registration will be presented to the School Board this spring and final decisions will be made in regard to location and the number of classes to be held. If you are interested in sending your child to School Readiness in the fall, please complete the preregistration form included with this letter and return by April 1st.
In addition, we ask you as parents who are presently listed on the census, to help us in locating RTR children in this age group who are not on our census and encourage them to contact the schools for more information.
What is School Readiness: School Readiness is a preschool program funded by the MN Dept. of Education and RTR School district for children ages three though five. Designed to help prepare your child for school, the RTR School Readiness four and five-year-old program meets twice weekly, all day, beginning in mid September and running through mid May. The three year old class meets once a week, running the same time frame as the four and five year old class. The program is taught by licensed Early Childhood Elementary teachers, Pam Hansen and Tammy Brust. Four and five year old classes are held in all three school sites while the three year old class sites include Russell and Ruthton. These locations and class sizes were determined by 2007-2008 preregistration enrollment. Bus transportation is provided for morning and afternoon. Full tuition for the 2007-08 four and five year old class was approximately ten dollars per day and full tuition for the three year old class was eleven dollars per day. A sliding fee schedule is available based on the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch application.
Age Requirements: For the Three year old class, your child must be three years of age by September 1, 2008 and for the Four and Five year old class, your child must be four years of age by September 1, 2008.
