The Fifty Nifty States

Introduction: 

Your school has been chosen by the FIFTY NIFTY STATE CORPORATION to develop games about the fifty states.  Enclosed is the letter that was received by the school.

Dear Students:

We are the FIFTY NIFTY STATE CORPORATION.  We have been searching the United States to find new and innovative games about our land’s great fifty nifty states.  However, we have not been able to find many that are up to our standards of excellence.

We are looking for games similar to concentration games, monopoly, or almost any card or board game you can think of.

In order for your game to be considered for publication by our company, it must have the following components:  1.  A list of the materials needed to play your game  2.  Clear directions that any student could follow explaining everything about your game.  3.  All necessary materials to play the game.  4.  Something to keep all the pieces of your game together.  (Shoe box, box, large ziplock bag,etc)

Your teacher will give you a checklist for all the necessary steps to complete for this project.  Good Luck and Good Gaming!

You have a choice of working in groups of no more than 3 or you may do this project on your own.  If you do it as a group more effort and work will need to be done.  Choose wisely because once the choice has been made you will sign a contract with your group and you will not be able to work on your own.

Organizer:  Friday, December 5th

Daily Journal:  As requested by teacher(could ask for it any time)  Must be done daily as work progresses.

Completed Game:  Friday, Dec. 19(A 10 point deduction for every day it is late:  If this project is not done student will probably fail this class for the quarter.)

*This is the research component of this assignment.  It has to be done individually.  You must have 10 sources from books and the rest of the sources can be from the internet.  The notecards have to have be done in the following manner:  1.  Front side of card:  Fact written (not cut from some source) in your handwriting.  2.  Backside:  Bibliography(tells where you got your information) written in your handwriting.  If you found it on the internet it must include the following:  Name of exact website(cannot be name of search engine).   EX.  www.spellingcity.com  or  www.glencoe.com/winninghtml.  If it has google, answer or other search engine names in it is incorrect and you will get no credit for that notecard.   If taken from a book:  Name of Author, Title of Book, page number. 

You will need to keep track of all of your materials in the folder provided to you.  This folder will be handed in(in good condition) without added writing on it when the project is complete.
